A bandsaw (also written band saw) is a power saw with a long, sharp blade consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal stretched between two or more wheels to cut material.There are three main types of bandsaw blade teeth: regular, hook and skip. Regular-tooth bandsaw blades are the most common type. They have straight faced teeth that are evenly spaced and deep gullets.

Hardback blades are made with carbon steel with a hardened tooth back and tooth. This blade is recommended for cutting materials like wood, plastics, aluminum, brass, and some mild steels. The Flexback blade is made from carbon steel with a hardened tooth edge and soft back.
